Project IM
According to the official press release, “Project IM” is an AAA, FPS, Sci-fi, action and adventure game with an original and unpredictable storyline featuring single and cooperative gameplay, with heavy focus on realism. It is a trilogy, with a target audience that is estimated to be 17+ and aimed at the next generation PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 platforms. It is intended to utilize Epic Games “Unreal Engine 3” technology.
Set in a believable future, the player is a newly enlisted Special Forces soldier, equipped
with the latest in weaponry, armor and gadgets that will embark on a breathtaking
adventure. A world filled with challenging scenarios and heart pounding situations that in
time draws you deeper into an ongoing plot.
Key features of the game may include
- Singleplayer or up to four players cooperative
- Custom game modes featuring arcade, RPG and tactical elements
- Captivating storyline with heavy focus on realism
- Advanced weapons simulation
- Randomized and non-linear gameplay
Looking out for interested publishers and hoping to land enough cash to license Unreal Engine 3, the Danish company, Zero point software, is willing to make waves in the next-generation race with Project IM. A teaser trailer is available at the website right away while a three-minute concept trailer is expected some time in Q1 2006. More details as the development progresses.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 4
Sam Fisher fans rejoice! Ubisoft announced today plans for the Spring 2006 launch of the next installment in the popular stealth-action franchise, Splinter Cell. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 4 (working title) will be available on a plethora of platforms, including all current and next-gen consoles, as well as PC.
“Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Chaos Theory received record-setting reviews and countless awards,” said Yves Guillemot, president and CEO of Ubisoft. “Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 4 will be even more thrilling and heart-pounding than its ground-breaking predecessors. This new version will both enrich the gaming experience on current consoles and take full advantage of the capacities of next-generation consoles to deliver players the most fabulous gaming experience ever.”
The Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell video game franchise has sold more than 12.5 million copies worldwide since the first installment launched in 2002.

According to a press release from Interactive Data Visualization Inc.(IDV). Their premier real-time foliage middleware, SpeedTree RT will be made available for PlayStation 3 developers under an agreement signed recently with Sony Computer Entertainment.
The official website explains the ground breaking tool in an easy to understand format, " The SpeedTree product line enables both real-time developers and off-line animators to incorporate beautiful, animated, and fully 3D foliage into their scenes. In real-time, our proprietary techniques automatically construct trees with built-in levels of detail – and transition smoothly between them – allowing scenes to be populated with many high definition 3D trees. Almost 1,000 tree and plant models representing over 170 core species are available, and SpeedTreeCAD can be used to create variations or completely new trees & plants from scratch."
A free, fully functional evaluation version of the SpeedTree RT middleware is also available for developers who want to try it out first. The evaluation kit includes plug-ins for 3dsmax and Maya, the fully-functional real-time foliage software and the highly versatile SpeedTree CAD foliage editor and creation tool. After the evaluation period is over, a full license can be easily purchased for a sum of $9,995US per title.
